WASHINGTON, D.C. (KERO) â On Wednesday 218 democrats and 10 House Republicans voted in favor to impeach President Donald Trump. Including Kern County Congressman David Valadao. Shortly after the vote Valadao tweeting the reason behind his decision. Based on the facts before me, I have to go with my gut and vote my conscience. I voted to impeach President Trump. His inciting rhetoric was un-American, abhorrent, and absolutely an impeachable offense. Itâs time to put country over politics.
Now that Trump has been impeached again the next move must come from the Senate. Unlike a majority House vote for impeachment the Constitution requires a two-thirds vote of the Senate to convict.
