UTSA and UT Health San Antonio strike deal on new outpatient clinic

UT Health San Antonio is further expanding outside of the South Texas Medical Center with plans to build an outpatient clinic on the city’s rapidly growing Northwest Side.
University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, which is its legal name, is negotiating a ground lease for the construction of the 80,000-square-foot facility at University of Texas at San Antonio’s Park West Campus.
Although the new clinic will be on UTSA’s property, it will primarily serve the area’s population inside Loop 1604 at Kyle Seale Parkway. The Park West campus, a few miles west of the main campus, has athletic fields and facilities.

The Texas Attorney General s Office will prosecute the case of an Athens ISD bus driver charged with negligent homicide in a wreck that killed a 13-year-old boy. Rich Flowers/staff
The Texas Attorney Generalâs Office has been assigned the prosecution of Athens bus driver John Stevens, who faces trial for criminally negligent homicide and injury to a child.
Henderson County District Attorney Jenny Palmer has recused herself in the case of Stevens, who was at the wheel Jan. 25, 2019, dropping off students after school when the collision occurred.
At about 4 p.m., Athens Police Department reports said, the bus reached the railroad track, where it stopped, then proceed and went into the path of a westbound Union Pacific freight train.
