As if Denver Broncos fans didn t already have enough to speculate and obsess over on the night of the NFL draft, reigning MVP quarterback Aaron Rodgers was connected to the Mile High City through a flurry of reports online.
Rodgers reportedly told the Green Bay Packers that he won t return to the team and wishes to be traded. The likes of
Pro Football Talk wasted little time connecting Rodgers to Denver, in part, due to his new fiance actress Shailene Woodley being a resident of Boulder, CO.
The Broncos are also an attractive destination for any veteran QB, thanks to the absolute wealth of talent on the offensive side of the ball from a suddenly more-than-solid starting five to a plethora of weapons at the skill positions. Throw in Vic Fangio s defensive expertise and the talent on that side of the ball, and to a savvy veteran like Rodgers, the Broncos become an extremely attractive NFL landing spot.

While the NFLPA and team owners clash over a tumultuous dispute over voluntary OTAs, one of the most coveted QB prospects held his second Pro Day in Fargo, North Dakota.
On Monday, North Dakota State s Trey Lance participated in a private workout where the San Francisco 49ers, Atlanta Falcons, New England Patriots, and Denver Broncos were in attendance. Although the throwing session was not available to the public, rumors have circulated that the Niners designed a majority of the workout.
San Francisco GM John Lynch, head coach Kyle Shanahan, and QBs coach Rich Scangarello spearheaded the event for NFL personnel. In early March, Broncos GM George Paton meticulously studied Lance at his first Pro Day with director of college scouting Brian Stark, and QBs coach Mike Shula. On the second Pro Day trip, Paton dispatched offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur to study the 20-year-old prospect.

Denver Broncos QBs coach Mike Shula’s last name is deeply rooted at the heart of the NFL and the sport of football. His father, the late Don Shula, passed away at 90 years old last May and is immortalized in the Pro Football Hall of Fame as a legendary coach.
Don, who coached the Miami Dolphins to the NFL’s only undefeated season (17-0) in 1972, took the franchise to three Super Bowls and won two World Championships. His impact on professional football will forever be celebrated as a winning head coach and man.
And the apple, as they say, doesn’t fall far from the tree.

Earlier this week, we heard from Phillip Lindsay that Denver Broncos quarterback Drew Lock is hungry and that he holds his own future. Lock has been the subject of much offseason criticism, mostly from fans of his own team, with the Broncos being tied to nearly every quarterback under the sun via the rumor mill.
However, the Broncos have yet to make a QB move despite all the speculation that a veteran would be added this offseason at minimum. That didn t happen, a sign that new GM George Paton feels much differently about Lock than his worst detractors within Broncos Country and the media.
