If you re the kind of person that lists big stompy robots, feisty FPS action, and parkour as three of their favourite things, then you ve almost certainly already played Respawn Entertainment s Apex Legends pre-cursor, Titanfall 2. But if you somehow
Titanfall 2 released back in 2016 to much acclaim (its commercial reception was less favourable, perhaps due to publisher EA famously dubious decision to wedge its release between Battlefield 1 and Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare), with ample praise piled on the first-person shooter s sterling blend of the aforementioned robots, guns, and zippy traversal.
It s biggest surprise, however, came in the form of a brisk but immensely entertaining single-player campaign. Like the best Mario games, enthused Eurogamer s Essential review, Titanfall 2 picks a trick, themes an entire level around it, and then drops it the second it threatens to become over

pex Legends‘ next season, dubbed “Legacy,” is on the horizon, and as the name suggests, the
Apex Legends lore is revisiting some characters from its past. Specifically, we’ve seen references to a number of
Titanfall 2 characters in the marketing for
Apex Legends‘ Legacy season, but if you really want to see where it all started, there’s no better way to do that than by playing
Titanfall 2. Thankfully, Respawn has made that particularly easy this weekend if you happen to be a PC gamer.
Here are some of Apex Legends’ main features:
Gameplay: an online multiplayer battle royale game. Players have the possibility to form teams of up to
20 three-person squads or 30 two-person duos. Teams land on an island after
the jumpmaster (one of the players in each team) decides to skydive out of an aircraft. Next, each squad has to search for weapons, armor, and equipment with the ultimate goal to defeat other teams. As time passes, the map shrinks, thus pushing players to keep moving in order to avoid getting out of it. Equipped with a
Ping system players can send information to their teams (directions, strategies, etc.) through the push of a button, without having to communicate verbally.
Valkyrie’s passive ability is her signature jetpack. The jetpack gives her the ability unique among Legends to fly high above the
Apex Legends battlefield, but it does have some limitations. For one thing, it has a limited amount of fuel, and Valkyrie will have to return to the ground to recharge. On top of that, she can’t fire while she’s flying, but she can use her weapon if she disables the jetpack in other words, she can shoot only while falling. The jetpack itself is also loud and flashy, making her a perfect target while she’s flying through the air.
