NAB credits insourcing for strong technology delivery

In its half-year results released Thursday, NAB chief executive Ross McEwan said technology is “critical” to “achieving or strategic growth and cost ambitions”.

AU Small Finance Q4 PAT rises 38% YoY

AU Small Finance Bank reported 38% jump in net profit to Rs 169 crore in Q4 FY21 from Rs 122 crore in Q4 FY20. Total income was at Rs 1569.01 crore in Q4 FY21, up by 14.8% from Rs 1366.60 crore in Q4 FY20. Net interest income (NII) increased by 18% year-on-year (YoY) to Rs 656 crore during the quarter. The bank said that in Q4 FY21, NII was impacted due to interest reversals of Rs 66 crore on account of NPA tagging of borrower accounts in compliance with RBI circular of 7th April. The bank had made Rs 38 crore of provisions against these reversals which were utilized during the quarter. The NII growth was, however, aided by a reduction in cost of funds by 86 bps.

PTCL posts Rs1 606bln profit in Q12021

Business April 13, 2021 ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) posted a net profit of Rs1.606 billion during the quarter ended March 31, 2021, showing seven percent growth in revenues for the first time since Q1 of 2014, a statement said. The company posted a loss of Rs406.724 million during the same period last year. The company did not announce any cash dividend. “The significant growth in revenues was mainly driven by strong performance in consumer segment and continued growth momentum in business services that supported PTCL in posting seven percent growth in revenues for the first time since Q1 of 2014. This was achieved despite the negative effects of the coronavirus pandemic,” the statement said.
