Barack Obama's family dog Bo, who became a popular resident of the White House, died on Saturday from cancer, the former president said, remembering him as "a constant, gentle presence in our lives."
"For more than a decade, Bo was a constant, comforting presence in our lives," said former President Barack Obama. The Portuguese water dog was 12 in human years.

WASHINGTON, May 9 ― Barack Obama’s family dog Bo, who became a popular resident of the White House, died today from cancer, the former president said, remembering him as “a constant, gentle presence in our lives.”
Obama had promised his young daughters Malia and Sasha that they could get a dog after the 2008 election, and Bo joined the family soon after they moved into the president”s official residence.

The family of former US President Barack Obama have paid tribute to our best friend , after their beloved pet dog Bo died yesterday.
Bo, a black and white Portuguese water dog , arrived at the White House as a 6-month-old puppy back in 2009 as a gift to Malia and Sasha to make settling into life in the White House that little bit easier.

Bo was soon an important part of the family, and both Barack and Michelle paid their respects to their best friend and loyal companion in social media posts yesterday, after Bo died from cancer 11 years old.
