Water Leak Closes Road In Freshwater

A water leak has led to the closure of Blackbridge Road in Freshwater.
The road is shut from its junction with Guyers Road to its junction with Easton Lane, for a distance of 279 metres.
Southern Water is working to repair a leak.
Diversions are in place.

A controversial Salisbury cycle lane THE cycle lanes on Brown Street and Exeter Street are to be removed from March 1. Wiltshire Council has confirmed that cycle lanes, in Salisbury and Chippenham, will begin to be removed, conditions permitting, while three other schemes will be made permanent, and two new schemes are in development. The decision on these schemes has been formally made by Councillor Bridget Wayman, Cabinet Member for Highways, after the ‘calling in’ period, which enabled other councillors and members of the public to submit their comments, came to an end. It was based on the results of a public consultation, along with other factors such as deliverability and compliance to Department for Transport (DfT) cycling standards.
The chain already has four stores in Southampton, on the High Street, Banister Road, Woolston, and Shirley. But Lidl bosses still want to add more. The locations where Lidl wants to add to its operation in Southampton are in Bassett, Bitterne and Portswood. It also wants to relocate the current store in Townhill Park.
REST OF HAMPSHIRE Lidl currently has a number of stores in Hampshire, including Hedge End, Eastleigh, Totton, Hythe, and Fareham. However, many sites have been earmarked for potential new stores. Bosses are hoping to add a store in Hedge End, Chandler s Ford, Romsey and two in Winchester (Easton Lane and Badger s Farm).
