Auction of art by late Grantham Journal cartoonist is popular with buyers
An auction has taken place of art created by the late Journal cartoonist Terry Shelbourne.
Terry was a prolific artist with paintings, drawings, caricatures and cartoons all part of his repertoire.
Terry died on New Yearâs Eve, aged 90. He was the Journal cartoonist for more than 30 years.

Last week auctioneers Golding Young and Mawer held an auction of his art which proved popular among buyers.
Auctioneer Colin Young said the auction was âfantasticâ and paid tribute to Terry, of whom he was a great admirer.
Plans to change land near Grantham into travellers site refused

A planning application to change the use of land to a travellers site was refused at an SKDC planning meeting on Wednesday.
The proposal concerned land owned by the applicant, situated to the north of Bennington Bait, a maggot farm, on Valley Lane, Long Bennington.
Four of the 11 councillors present voted in favour of refusal to carry the motion, voicing concerns over the site s suitability as a site to live on, with a maggot farm and the A1 close by causing odour and noise concerns.

Plans to expand HGV parking area by 40 spaces off the A1 near Grantham are given go-ahead
Plans to expand a HGV parking area off the A1 have been given the go-ahead by councillors.
Moto Hospitality Ltd applied for planning permission to expand its parking site in Great Gonerby to include an additional 40 spaces for HGVs.
The Moto Service Area, which is located at the junction off the A1 and the B1174, currently has 15 spaces for HGVs as well as 187 parking spaces for cars and four for coaches.

Plan for 66 homes in village near Grantham is approved
A proposed 66-house development has won the approval of a planning committee.
Larkfleet Homes wants to build a mixture of two, three and four-bedroom properties on land next to Corby Glen Fire Station.
The 2.65 hectare site, made up of two fields, is part of a wider slice of land which could eventually bring an extra 250 homes to the village.
