Pundit Davie Provan expects Celtic to announce two high-profile departures Davie Provan believes Neil Lennon and Nicky Hammond will follow Peter Lawwell out of Celtic. Parkhead chief executive Lawwell this week announced that he would be leaving the club in the summer after 17 years in charge of the Hoops. Lennon is still currently Celtic boss but after defeat to St Mirren yesterday, the pressure is really starting to mount. Pundit Provan now reckons Lennon and head of recruitment Hammond will leave Parkhead sooner rather than later. Writing in The Scottish Sun, he said: “Neil Lennon and his backroom team will be next out the door followed by head of recruitment Nicky Hammond. Hopefully, anonymous chairman Ian Bankier will do the decent thing as well. The club needs gutted from top to bottom.

Celtic chief executive Peter Lawwell to retire after 17 years with the club

Celtic have announced that chief executive Peter Lawwell will retire at the end of the season.
Lawwell, 61, has held the post since 2003, overseeing 13 Premiership titles and four domestic trebles at Parkhead.
Scottish Rugby’s chief operating officer Dominic McKay will take over from Lawwell in July. McKay was promoted to the role of CEO in 2015.

Celtic chief executive Peter Lawwell will retire at the end of the season after 17 years in the role. The club announced Mr Lawwell s intentions this morning and it comes on the back of fan criticism regarding Celtic s season so far and the recent controversy surrounding their Dubai trip. Supporters have left banners hanging demanding Lawwell leave the club in recent weeks. Recent frustration does not diminish the good work done at Celtic since Lawwell took over the helm in 2003 and he has helped management bring huge success to Parkhead in the shape of 29 trophies including 13 league titles, four domestic Trebles and participation in the last 16 of the UEFA Champions League on three occasions.
