General manager Terry Fontenot and coach Arthur Smith’s first NFL draft together is a day away. And it’s not clear what the tandem may choose to do.
Basically anything except for trading up is an option for the Atlanta Falcons, and Fontenot could try to trade back to acquire more picks to help with replenishing the roster. He could take offensive tackle Penei Sewell, tight end Kyle Pitts or one of the remaining quarterbacks available – possibly Trey Lance, Mac Jones or Justin Fields.
It would be unlikely Fontenot would take a defensive player at No. 4 – the value isn’t necessarily there that high – but considering it is his first draft, Fontenot is a bit of an unknown.
