I WAS HOOKED on Bowie from an early age. Along with millions of TV viewers in 1972 (49 years ago, eek!) David Bowie pointed directly at me, looked down the lens and beckoned me to follow him. This was non-stodgy, new, futuristic. Like someone I had never seen before. I joined the cult.

Tributes paid as Dundalk legend Liam Reilly is laid to rest today

A flood of tributes have been paid to Bagatelle frontman Liam Reilly remembering the legendary Dundalk musician as a “true artist” and one of the country’s “greatest songwriters”.
Liam, who wrote the much-loved song Summer In Dublin which resonated with a whole generation and became an Irish classic, passed away suddenly but peacefully in his home in Dundalk on New Year’s Day at the age of 65.
The musician’s family said: “We know that his many friends and countless fans around the world will share in our grief as we mourn his loss, but celebrate the extraordinary talent of the man whose songs meant so much to so many.”
Luke Skywalker beams in to planet Zog as the Force returns to The Den

So tonight’s final instalment of The Den will be a star-studded show of inter-galactic proportions as Luke Skywalker himself will be landing virtually in the RTÉ studios to appear on the TV show.
Hollywood star Mark Hamill has held a lifelong affection for Ireland since his first visit in 1970 when he was shooting the action film The Big Red One.
Hamill returned in 2015 to touch down on Skellig Michael to play Luke Skywalker in the Star Wars hit movie, The Last Jedi.
