Apple Original Films has officially partnered with A24 for theatrical and streaming distribution of Oscar-winning filmmaker Joel Coen’s upcoming drama film The Tragedy of Macbeth, based on the classic Shakespearean tragedy of the same name. They’re planning to theatrically release the Denzel Washington and Frances McDormand-led feature worldwide in the fourth quarter of this year, followed by a global launch on Apple TV+ which puts the film up as an awards season contender.
This film marks Coen and McDormand’s latest collaboration together after 1984’s
Blood Simple, 1996’s
Fargo, and 2016’s

Apple TV+ will screen the forthcoming The Tragedy of Macbeth, the first film written and directed by Joel Coen without his brother and longtime filmmaking partner, Ethan Coen. The film will first receive a worldwide release in theaters during the fourth quarter of 2021, before then being screened globally on Apple TV+.
According to
Deadline, the film is seen as a prestigious project and an awards-season contender. It stars multiple Oscar-winners Frances McDormand and Denzel Washington, and Coen himself has four Academy Awards.
Michael Barnes thinks the exchange should start with “The Trip to Bountiful.”
Although he isn’t a fan of horror movies, he agrees that “Texas Chainsaw Massacre” is among the most influential movies about the state.

I think few would disagree that Frances McDormand is one of our greatest living actors. I also am inclined to believe that that same few have likely never seen a movie starring the acclaimed 63-year-old (who is also married to Joel Coen) and had no interest in seeing
Nomadland until after it won Best Picture at the 2021 Oscars. Well, that being said, now seems like as good a time as any to bear witness to the best Frances McDormand movies on streaming or available to watch elsewhere, starting with the latest film to earn her praise from the Academy.
