Peter Wright will commence the defence of his PDC World Darts Championship title in the coming week.
He beat three-time champion Michael van Gerwen on New Year’s Day and this year’s competition is set to start with preliminary rounds on Tuesday.
Although the tournament won’t obviously be blessed by the usual packed house and festive atmosphere, there will at least some fans allowed into Alexandria Palace to witness three weeks of darting drama.
