Israel s Eden Alene has made it to the final round of the 2021 Eurovision Song Contest, which will be held on Saturday in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. Alene, 21, performed the song “Set Me Free” flawlessly, showing off her impressive whistle register capabilities, in the first semi-final on Tuesday night. I don t know, I can t, I m going to explode because of the excitement, said Alene, who was born in Jerusalem to Ethiopian-Jewish parents, right after the semi-final. I m so happy for my country because we deserve it, because we have been through so much and I have been through so much, so I m so happy.

In the midst of a war and civil unrest, Israelis rejoiced to learn that the country’s Eurovision contestant, Eden Alene, advanced to the finals as the 2021 song contest kicked off in Rotterdam Tuesday night.
Clad in a costume by Israeli fashion designer Alon Livne (who has also designed for Beyoncé), Alene’s rendition of “Set Me Free” included hitting the highest note ever achieved in a Eurovision performance.

Israel’s Eden Alene won a place Tuesday in the finals of the Eurovision song contest, despite pro-Palestinian protests outside the event in Rotterdam, Netherlands. She is the country’s first Ethiopian Jewish contender in the annual European song contest.
Alene’s song, “Set Me Free,” features the highest note ever sung in the competition. The song includes lyrics in English, Arabic, and Hebrew Israel’s three official languages. She is considered among the favorites to win the final competition on Saturday.

Israel’s opponents return to the same talking points in every war, notably the claim that Israel is an “apartheid” state. The accusation is absurd.
Just this week, a black Israeli named Eden Alene qualified for the Eurovision song contest with a song including lyrics in Arabic, as well as Hebrew and English. And until the Palestinian terrorist group, Hamas, fired rockets at Israeli civilians both Jewish and Arab an Islamist Arab political party was about to join an Israeli governing coalition.
Israel’s Declaration of Independence provides “full and equal citizenship” to Arabs, as well as “due representation” for Arab citizens in all “provisional and permanent institutions.”
