Share On 20 May 2021, a national consultation meeting will take place online in Tashkent to discuss the draft policy document “National Science, Technology and Innovation Policy of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2021-2030”. It will bring together the representatives from the Islamic Development Bank (IsBD), the Ministry of Innovative Development of Uzbekistan, the UNESCO Tashkent Office, the Natural Sciences Sector of UNESCO Headquarters and a number of national and international stakeholders such as development partners and institutions. The event is facilitated by the Islamic Development Bank, UNESCO Headquarters and the UNESCO Tashkent Office, in close cooperation with the Ministry of Innovation Development of Uzbekistan within the framework of the UNESCO-IsBD project on strengthening inclusive Science, Technology and Innovation System in Uzbekistan .

May 4, 2021 The CSIS Economics Program is tracking commitments and approvals by major international financial institutions (IFIs) to meet the massive financing needs generated by the Covid-19 pandemic and its economic fallout. These IFIs include the International Monetary Fund (IMF), World Bank Group, and major regional development banks. We also include select regional financing arrangements (RFAs), which, together with the IFIs, central bank bilateral swap lines, and individual countries’ foreign reserve holdings, comprise the Global Financial Safety Net (GFSN). Based on data updated through March 31, 2021: We estimate IFIs have approved $262.4 billion in Covid-19-related support through Q1 2021.
