On Sunday night, the Padres acquired 2018 AL Cy Young Award winner Blake Snell from the Rays . On Monday, San Diego was working on a large deal to bring in Yu Darvish from the Chicago Cubs.
Here are the players who reportedly are involved in the trade.
Cubs-Padres deal will be Yu Darvish and Victor Caratini to SD for Zach Davies, SS Reginald Preciado, OF Owen Caissie, OF Ismael Mena and SS Yeison Santana, per source.

The hot stove is finally, well, lukewarm, thanks entirely to AJ Preller and the San Diego Padres, who traded for two ace pitchers and signed Korean infielder Ha-seong Kim within 24 whirlwind hours. Blake Snell will be moving from the Rays to SoCal, and Yu Darvish will be leaving Chicago for the west coast as well. Could the Twins have potentially topped either of these deals? Obviously they chose not to, but lets look at the pieces that left San Diego, and the most comparable bits of the Twins farm.

Coming off their first playoff season in 14 years, the Padres added two aces in blockbuster trades and signed a slugging free agent infielder in a span of about 20 hours from late Sunday night to Monday evening.
