Turkish crime boss Sedat Peker on Tuesday called for the arrest of a former interior minister and intelligence official over the murder of Turkish Cypriot journalist Kutlu Adalı, who was assassinated in northern Cyprus in 1996.
The organised crime leader making international headlines over his allegations against Turkish government officials, shared a document on Twitter, containing what Peker called the confessions of his brother Atilla Peker surrounding the murder of Adalı, which remains unsolved to date. Here is the statement of my brother Atilla Peker on the murder of Kutlu Adalı,’’ Peker wrote, addressing Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu. If you are a man, you would have Mehmet Ağar and Korkut Eken also arrested.’’

The Turkish Interior Ministry announced on Tuesday that it had opened an investigation into Istanbul Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu for allegedly disrespecting an Ottoman sultan’s tomb, Turkish news outlet Ahval reported.
The city’s mayor visited the mausoleum of Sultan Mehmed II last year as part of the commemoration festivities for the 567th anniversary of the Turkish conquest of Constantinople, the outlet noted. Mehmed II was Sultan of the Ottoman Empire from 1444-1446 and again from 1451-1481. His most significant accomplishment was the conquest of Constantinople in 1453, the only successful siege of the city since its foundation more than 1,000 years prior. Thereafter, he was known as Mehmed the Conqueror.

Police on April 23 arrested 62 suspects in Turkey as a part of an investigation into a cryptocurrency exchange platform, Thodex, the website of which is currently inaccessible, according to security sources.
The Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office issued detention warrants for 78 suspects over their alleged links to Thodex, the source said on condition of anonymity due to restrictions on speaking to the media.
While police teams carried out simultaneous raids in eight different provinces to nab 62 out of a total of 78 suspects, efforts are underway to arrest the remaining suspects.

ANKARA (Turkey), April 23 (SeeNews) - The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor s Office opened an investigation into local cryptocurrency platform operator Thodex, Turkish media reported.
The prosecution appealed to personnel for their testimonies on the platform, Anadolu Agency reported on Thursday.
At the same time, a criminal complaint alleging aggravated fraud was filed against Fatih Faruk Ozer, the founder and CEO of Thodex, by lawyer Abdullah Usame Ceran. The complaint asked to seize all assets of the cryptocurrency exchange platform, including vehicles, bank accounts, holdings and shares, the agency also reported.
