Safewheel, founded by Rafiq Islam (Chief Executive Officer), Faysal Islam (Chief Business Development Officer) and Anas Hossain Makki (Chief Operating Officer), gained a wide audience in its formative days. What started out as an entry to the globally-renowned Hult Prize competition is now an internationally recognised social enterprise providing emergency medical transport services to rural Bangladesh. There are very few ambulance services in rural areas. Villagers rely on traditional three-wheelers, which can be life-threatening for patient transportation. Even if they get an ambulance, it is expensive. Team Safewheel wanted to create an affordable and innovative solution for the villagers.

In Bangladesh, the service industry has reached new heights in recent years. This industry doesn t produce goods or tangible items, but creates and provides services for all. One start-up that works to provide such services, and more, is BD Assistant. I was working as a volunteer for organisations in 2016, when I realised our country is Dhaka-centric. People move to Dhaka for employment or better standards of living. As I was born in a remote village in Rangpur, I was always looking for solutions for such issues. We started BD Assistant (Bangladesh Assistant) to assist local people with living facilities that were not available before, explains Abu Sayed Al Sagor, CEO of BD Assistant.

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Mongolia in collaboration with UNDP Bangkok Regional Hub, and Ulaanbaatar City Governors Office, and the Science, Industrial Development and Innovation Agency (SIDIA) are co-organizing the “Mongol Enterprising Adventure two-day webinar that aims to support youth with enterprising development tools and resources.
The event is part of the #Activated2030 regional youth economic empowerment platform, and Youth Co: Lab, an initiative co-led by UNDP and Citi Foundation - the largest youth entrepreneurship movement in Asia and the Pacific.
