A local entrepreneur has begun what is considered a prestigious fellowship that has representation from dozens of countries.
Shannon Ferguson is one of seven people representing Canada in the Young Leaders of the Americas Initiative (YLAI) fellowship.

Ferguson, the co-founder and CEO of FanSaves, a local startup that helps sports teams and organizations, is one of 260 fellows from 37 countries in the Western hemisphere, with over 2,000 people having applied for the program.
The fellowship was originally supposed to take place last summer and would have seen Ferguson travelling to Arizona for opening ceremonies, Washington, D.C.
