State monopoly plans to take online wine shops to court According to Iceland Monitor s sources business at Sante has been very good. Kristinn Magnússon
The Icelandic state-run seller of alcoholic beverages, ÁTVR, intends to request an injunction on online wine shops that sell directly to Icelandic consumers.
As Iceland Monitor reported earlier this month Icelandic importer Sante is attempting to circumvent the state monopoly on selling alcoholic beverages by establishing a sister company in France that operates an online shop but stores its stock in an warehouse in Reykjavik. Foreign online wine shops have been servicing Icelandic consumes for several years but the Sante business model allows customers of the French seller to enjoy shorter delivery times and lower delivery costs – or even pick their purchases up in person at the centrally located warehouse.

th 2021.

Updated quarantine rules for travelers take effect Tuesday The flow of tourists has begun to slowly increase. Those who have been fully vaccinated now have a fairly easy time visiting Iceland. Kristinn Magnússon
The ministry of health has published updated rules regarding the quarantine requirements of tourists visiting Iceland. This changes the list of countries from which visitors are required to either stay in the state-run quarantine facility, or have the possibility of applying for an exemption and self-quarantine elsewhere, Mbl.is reports.
Which group travelers fall into depends on the most recent infection rate of the countries they stayed in prior to their trip to Iceland.

Doctors used Icelandic fish-skin grafts from Kerecis, a medical device company in his hometown of Ísafjörður, to help him heal. “I’m getting back to life, but everything is different than before. Now it is just a question of making the best of the situation, and accepting it,” says Pétur. He was released last earlier this month from Landspitali – the National University Hospital of Iceland, where he received treatments for his burn wounds and began his rehabilitation.
