Motherhood is never easy. It s amazing and miraculous and stressful and sometimes all at the same time. Being a mother this past year forced many to rethink their careers, their schedules and their dependence on one another to make it all work.
While the pandemic s effect upon the family and the workplace is still be written, those who gave birth over the long months of the pandemic already know they faced new challenges others had not.

Liam Kelly has been chosen as this week’s Pierre TF Riggs High School Performer/Fine Arts Student of the Week.
Here is his nomination from Mrs. Hodges:
I would like to nominate Liam Kelly for Performer of the Week. Liam plays the lead in the spring play “A Lighter Shade of Noir.” Liam has really grown as an actor in the role of Trent Trowel a noir private detective. I have seen him work very hard to define his character, learn all his lines and act as a leader among the cast and crew. He is the first to jump up and help set the stage or whatever work we need done. He approaches every practice with a positive attitude and a good sense of humor. Liam is a kindhearted human who is a friend to all and I am glad to have had this opportunity to work with him. Bonus, he is a projection boss!

Junior League Gainesville works to end hunger
The Junior League of Gainesville is marking significant milestones and making plans to reduce food insecurity in the Gainesville community, an important priority to the League since it was founded in 1935 that is more crucial during the COVID-19 pandemic.
In response to immediate food needs brought on by the pandemic, the Junior League of Gainesville provided 1,500 pounds of food to their community partners Food4Kids BackPack Program, SWAG (SW Advocacy Group), and Catholic Charities in March 2020. During the Amazing Give of August 2020, the Junior League raised $13,500 to purchase an electric pallet lift for the Food4Kids BackPack Program. With the help of the pallet lift, Food4Kids volunteers can move boxes of donations around their warehouse with ease, boosting their efficiency and storage capabilities, allowing more children to receive weekend food packs.
