2021 Year of the Ox Meaning and Predictions for Lunar New Year

Still, the Year of the Ox will impact us all in a few generally similar ways, according to both Levitt and Pocket Chinese Almanacauthors and translators Joanna C. Lee and Ken Smith. Here s what they have to say about the meaning of the Year of the Ox, and a few predictions for what it has in store. Keep your head down in the Year of the Ox. While Levitt is an astrologer and student of feng shui, Lee and Smith get their almanac predictions from a Hong Kong-based geomancer named Warwick Wong. Long practiced in his family, Wong s style of Chinese geomancy is a form of divination, or forecasting the future, that observes astronomical movements and what Smith describes as “other atmospheric conditions.” Wong then interprets how these impact our lives down on earth, and his daily readings offer what’s lucky or unlucky to undertake (February 12 will be good for engagements or starting a business, but bad for rituals and paying out money). Viewpoint: Candidates offer new voices for Second Congressional District voters

Charter school co-principal Mindy McConnell and small business owner Jenette Porter along with state Sen. Troy Carter, state Sen. Karen Carter Peterson and Baton Rouge activist Gary Chambers all qualified yesterday for the open Second Congressional District seat recently vacated by former U.S. Rep Cedric Richmond, now a high-ranking aide to President Joe Biden. Qualifying continues until Friday (Jan. 22) at 4:30 p.m.  The race will be fast, furious, expensive and very competitive. The entrance of McConnell and Porter into the race will make the campaign more interesting to a wider range of voters. McConnell, 37, is a Libertarian who believes that it’s time to break up America’s two-party system. Porter, 61, said she is a God-fearing Christian with a strong distaste for current policing practices and a firm belief in the power of love.

Martin Luther King Jr s Dream in 2021: Opinion

It seems like a lifetime ago when America elected its first Black president. I mean, 2020 alone lasted for like six years, so it makes sense that the extraordinary phenomenon that was Barack Obama’s presidency feels like a distant memory especially since America would spend the next four years reminding us that it’s still America. I don’t call Obama’s presidency an “extraordinary phenomenon” because I think he was such a spectacular commander-in-chief, I just never completely lose sight of how amazing it is that a time came in America when someone who looks like he could’ve been some other president’s slave 200 years ago was elected to lead the nation.
