MONROVIA – President George says if the Liberian economy is to be revived, the role of Foreign Direct Investment cannot be overemphasized.
He said, Liberia will require considerable Foreign Direct Investment to fulfill its development goals, as articulated in the country’s national development plan, known as the Pro-Poor Agenda for Prosperity and Development.
President Weah made the statement during the second annual Liberia Business and Investment Forum which was held virtually last week.

MONROVIA – The National Fisheries and Aquaculture Authority (NaFAA) has certified all documents required for the offloading of a ship currently waiting at the Free Port of Monrovia to offload frozen foods, which is gradually becoming scarce on the local market, but the importer’s inability to obtain an Import Permit Declaration (IPD) from the Ministry of Commerce remains the hindrance.
Over the last few months, local and foreign owned businesses have complained over the refusal of the Ministry of Commerce to issue IPD for the importation of frozen foods.

Monrovia – Last month, Commerce and Industry Minister Marwine Diggs sent out a communication to local importers, requesting all to submit import documents for the period; October 2020 to present, for the importation of goods which include but not limited to copies of INF Forms, payment invoices, Bill of Lading, Port charges and all payments related to the clearing of your goods from the free port of Monrovia to the warehouses of businesses.
