Man Charged With Exploiting Elderly Neighbor

50-year-old William Christopher Giles of Farmview Lane in Statesville was arrested by Iredell County Sheriff’s Officers. He’s charged with felony exploitation of an older or disabled adult.
According to information released today (May 13), on August 17, 2020 a report was filed with the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office stating that William Christopher Giles had kidnapped his elderly neighbor. Responding deputies found that the individual was not kidnapped but had been taken to a financial institution to alter bank accounts.
The investigation was assigned to a Detective in the Economic Crimes Unit. Financial records were gathered, interviews were conducted, medical records were collected, and civil court proceedings occurred.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - Police have impounded 60 vehicles and warned about 300 people, while more than 50 people face indictments due to aggressive driving and street racing in the Charlotte area.
Near the end of 2020, police say numerous instances of aggressive driving and street racing compelled several members of the Charlotte community to reach out and express their concerns to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD).
Over the next six months, a multi-agency effort resulted in more than 2,500 traffic stops, nearly 3,500 violations and the seizure of 60 vehicles.

Sheriff Darren Campbell stated: On Sunday, May 2, 2021, the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office was called to 2390 Old Wilkesboro Road in reference to a two year old child who was shot.
When the deputies arrived on scene, the located the victim and provided medical care until medical personal arrived. The child was treated at the scene, then taken to Brenner Children’s Hospital in Winston-Salem for additional treatment.
