YELLOW SPRINGS Yellow Springs comedian Dave Chappelle is poised to purchase the former Miami Township Fire Station. Chappelle’s company, Iron Table Holdings, LLC reached an agreement on Monday that would pave the way for Chappelle to renovate the building into a comedy club.
The Yellow Springs Development Corporation (YSDC), a non-profit organization, finalized an agreement with Iron Table Holdings to sell the old fire station after a “several-month process,” according to a release. Dave Chappelle held intimate, socially distanced comedy shows throughout the summer in his hometown of Yellow Springs, OH. Now it looks like he plans to keep the laughs coming in Yellow Springs after the pandemic is over.
Dayton Business Journal reports that Chappelle s company, Iron Table Holdings LLC, has purchased property to open a new comedy club in town. The space, located at 225 Corry St, formerly housed the Miami Township fire station; plans are to transform it into a club that holds 140 people, with a restaurant and performance area.

Job creation, local impact, environmental impact and diversity were among the factors considered within the applications by the subcommittee, according to the outlet.
Chappelle s company s proposal ranked highest in each of the aforementioned fields save for job creation per the YSDC s review. The company also nabbed the number one rankings in the categories of profits/wages/taxes and COVID-19 considerations.
According to the outlet, the purchase of the fire station is the first community-based transaction that the company has carried out.

The Yellow Springs News reported Chappelle s company Iron Table Holdings will renovate the former Miami Township fire station after the building was purchased from the Yellow Springs Development Corp. The purchase was approved in September, the Yellow Springs News reported.
The comedy club will feature a performance space and restaurant. The venue’s capacity is estimated at 140 people and outdoor seating is planned along the Little Miami Scenic Trail.
Chappelle grew up and still resides in Yellow Springs, a village just about 20 miles outside of Dayton. During the coronavirus pandemic, Chappelle has hosted outdoor, socially-distanced comedy shows at nearby Wirrig Pavilion.
