Born Against, Danny Kiranos puts on the masks of a series of storytellers – some introspective, some romantic, some angry, some just plain crazed. Like Ed Hamell if he d grown up in East Austin, he presents a tense situation in Murder at the Bingo Hall that becomes both bizarrely groovy and darkly hilarious. The boozy march Quiet as a Rat drags in what sounds like a Salvation Army band to point angry fingers at God, while rollicking banjo folk tune 24K Casket pumps irreverence into the fear of death. Not everything parses out in measured distance, however, as spaghetti Western ballad Different Anymore, the Scott Walker-esque Another Man s Grave, and the stark Letter From Death Row pack pure emotional punch. Singer-songwriter’s latest LP ‘Born Against’ is a trip inside his eccentric musical mind

Last month, Danny Kiranos had enough of being stuck at home. The lack of movement during the pandemic over the last year was weighing on the singer-songwriter, who performs under the moniker Amigo the Devil.
“I got cabin fever so I packed a bag, put some stuff in the car and I’ve literally been driving,” Kiranos says. “I started going north, I didn’t have much of a plan.”
The Overdose (Episode 1: âLosing Controlâ)
In the docuseries, Lovato addresses her 2018 overdose. It was at a photo shoot three months prior, she reveals, that she thought, âI donât even know why Iâm sober anymore.â That night, she ended up at a party and ran into her old drug dealer, and went on what she calls âa shopping spree.â She tried meth for the first time and mixed it with molly, coke, weed, and alcohol. She began using crack cocaine recreationally. Fast forward to the night she met up with friends, went to a few bars, and ended up back at her house where she invited over one of her dealers over, ultimately leading to the overdose.
