SEVIERVILLE — Three members of the Board of Mayor and Aldermen took the oath of office Monday night, including one new member of the group, Joey Ohman, who defeated Jim
âIt was all about connecting people and helping people get what they wanted,â he said.
Heâs now working on a history degree at Walters State Community College, taking advantage of the stateâs ReConnect program that helps people return to higher education and complete their degrees.
If he gets to remain in office for another four years, he hopes to continue with the work he and the board have been doing.
That includes finally completing the downtown Streetscapes program after years of discussion, finding a way to pay down the cityâs debts from constructing the Sevierville Convention Center, expanding the greenways, and working with developers to keep the city growing.
