The Kilpatrick Turnpike is now cashless after the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority converted to PlatePay over the weekend.People driving on the Kilpatrick Turnpike will no longer have to carry cash or coins to pay at a toll plaza. Now, they can drive right through and be billed later.Jack Damrill said drivers are still getting used to the new system 24 hours into the cashless tolling on the turnpike. We know some people that tried to drive around the barricades to get into the toll plaza, said Damrill, who is with the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority. The OTA transitioned to cashless tolling over the weekend to make roads safer. We ve had over 500 accidents in the last six years at the mainline toll plazas.
