NY State Fair Food Fest expands to mini-fair (photos)

NY State Fair Food Fest expands to mini-fair (photos) Today 9:00 AM What started as a huge response to Pizze Fritte’s popup drive-through on Erie Boulevard in DeWitt last spring has transformed into a micro State Fair. The parking lot next to the Exposition Center at the New York State Fairgrounds brimmed with food vendors and a handful of kid’s rides and games. This is the fifth week for this year’s incarnation of the food fest. It is set up along the eastern end of the Midway, not too far from both the State Fair Expo Center and traditional location of the Villa Pizze Fritte stand. There is ample parking nearby, so visitors can get out of their cars and walk up. Note that although the CDC’s guidance about mask wearing for fully inoculated people has recently become less restrictive, New York State still mandates mask wearing and social distancing.

The Costumer Moving From Colonie to Larger Location

The Costumer Moving From Colonie to Larger Location For over one hundred years, The Costumer has been outfitting ghouls, goblins, vaudeville shows, and high school theater performances, and now they are gathering their threads and moving to a larger location. It s nice to see that during the pandemic and now as we come out of it, a local business cannot only survive but actually expand to a bigger location. The Costumer will be relocating their Central Ave location to Mohawk Harbor in Schenectady.  The new seventy-five hundred square foot retail space will face Erie Boulevard in Schenectady. They will also make much-needed renovations to their Barrett Street headquarters in Schenectady according to TimesUnion.com. These upgrades will allow The Costumer to increase inventory and truly make their home in Schenectady.

Letters to the Editor Saturday, May 1 | The Daily Gazette

Letters to the Editor Saturday, May 1 | The Daily Gazette SECTIONS I found the views of Sen. Ron Johnson (R) Wisconsin, on coronavirus vaccinations ill-informed and ignorant. The senator asks the question, “What do you care if your neighbor has one or not?” I care, senator, because pods of unvaccinated individuals like those stalwarts in the Fulton County law enforcement community (The Gazette April 10 article “COVID outbreak hits jail”) and in Republican/Trumpist enclaves generally, provide a cozy petri dish for the production of mutants of the virus against which our vaccines might have difficulty protecting us. In the end, the “You can’t make me” mindset can only prolong our battle against this scourge.
