Blue Zones Project: Trying to expand to Erie, again

This time, former Gov. Tom Ridge will help make the sales pitch. Ridge and Erie County Executive Kathy Dahlkemper will give the opening remarks Tuesday at a two-hour meeting designed to spur community and business leaders into helping fund Blue Zones across the county. The meeting will start at 10 a.m. at Mercyhurst University s Mary D’Angelo Performing Arts Center, 501 E. 38th St.  We want people to see the success we have had in Corry and hope they would want to help us expand Blue Zones throughout Erie County, said Dahlkemper, an early proponent of Blue Zones. Ridge is speaking at the meeting because the Ridge Policy Group, of which he is a founding member, has been contracted by Sharecare  Blue Zones parent organization  to help Blue Zones expand in Pennsylvania, Dahlkemper said.
