Golovchenko: Many do not like that we make decisions on our own
MINSK, 7 May (BelTA) – Prime Minister of Belarus Roman Golovchenko went to the Military Graveyard in Minsk in order to honor memory of those, who fell during the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945, in anticipation of the celebration of Victory Day, BelTA has learned.
Roman Golovchenko said: “We would like to forget the suffering, victims, and horrors of that war forever. We would like to turn this page once and for all but unfortunately we have to refer to those lessons more and more often. We remember how at the dawn of our independence in 1994 Western countries (USA, UK) guaranteed the protection of Belarus sovereignty, the lack of pressure and economic coercion. The ink on this document barely had time to dry when we faced the pressure they had promised we won t. Some time has passed since 1994 but assaults on our country continued during the entire period.”

For many years I have been waiting to write on Saadia Khan, the most brilliant student of our MBA class at NUST. It was the 1st MBA class at newly established Business School and the classes were run in the evening. This was to enable those students who had jobs and worked during the daytime to join classes in the evening. Saadia was working in Islamabad at United Nation Information Centre (UNIC), she would straight come to Rawalpindi where NUST Campus was located during those days. She was never late nor looked fatigued from 9-5 work hours at her office which she had joined on completion of studies at Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute. She possessed amazing energy, exceptional determination and always appeared calm and composed in the class. Racecourse Station House Officer (SHO) Inspector Mian Imran Abbas, who was martyred in a target killing incident on Sunday, was laid to rest with full state honours at Army Graveyard on Monday.
Funeral prayers of the martyred were offered at Rawalpindi Police Lines Parade Ground.
A large number of military and police officers and citizens, including Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid, Cantonment Station Commander Brigadier Ijaz Qamar Kayani, Regional Police Officer (RPO) Imran Ahmar, City Police Officer (CPO) Muhammad Ahsan Younas attended the funeral prayers. They also presented salutes to the officer and laid wreaths on his body.
