Question of the Day
ANALYSIS/OPINION:
When people think of the military they think of fighter jets, tanks, aircraft carriers, and missiles. No matter how advanced our technology gets, the most important thing about the U.S. Military is the people. Servicemembers are the bravest among us. These men and women volunteer to put themselves in harm’s way, potentially making the ultimate sacrifice, in defense of the sacred freedoms we hold dear in this country. Taking care of servicemembers and their families is not only our duty, but it is critical for allowing them to focus on the mission at hand protecting and defending the United States of America.
During a military move, it’s natural to get caught up in the logistics of all the tasks you need to accomplish. And if you’re a parent, the tasks during a move only multiply.

Over our years of military moves, my husband and I often reminded each other that we’d fallen into “task mode” (our gentle reminder to consider the feelings of various family members as we ran yet another errand, packed another box or handled travel details). It’s so important to realize how much help our children need through this major life change, whether they’re excited to move or dragging their heels. Here are a few tried-and-true strategies from experienced military parents that we hope will help make your PCS move easier.
