New AC unit donated to Harvest Compassion
PHOENIX - Scottsdale company AAA Cooling Specialists has made a big donation to a Valley nonprofit that supports families in need.
Harvest Compassion Center, an organization that helps provide much-needed items like food and clothing to residents in the Phoenix metro area, used to have a 30-year-old air conditioner that was leaking and causing numerous issues in their store.
Now, they have a brand new AC unit. I was just extremely grateful that someone out there is willing to help out, said Paul Thompson with Harvest Compassion.
Peter Neronha, Attorney General
Rhode Island Attorney General Peter Neronha raised $80,025 for the last quarter of 2020 and a large segment of it came from donations tied to a number of politically linked law firms, State House lobbyists, and from some select marijuana interests.
Neronha entered the quarter with just $48,731.61 on hand and with the fourth quarter fundraising haul, he now has $126,873.04.
As a candidate, Neronha pledged, “As Attorney General, on behalf of the people of Rhode Island, I’ll make sure that all public officials, elected or appointed, serve the public, not themselves. The next Attorney General needs to have the experience and independence, and the will, to bring these kind of cases. As U.S. Attorney, I made public corruption our top priority, and we brought case after case against politicians who violated their oath.”GET THE LATEST BREAKING NEWS HERE SIGN UP FOR GOLOCAL FREE DAILY EBLAST

The charitable foundation announced on Wednesday that despite COVID-19 related challenges, grants were given to 33 nonprofit organizations across the state of Texas, including in Lufkin, Nacogdoches, Zavalla, Jasper, Newton, Dublin, Vidor, Burkeville, Brenham, Jacksonville, Bryan and Houston, as well as three educational foundations in Lufkin, Carthage and Vidor.
“Undoubtedly, this year has been a struggle, especially for nonprofit organizations. The Brookshire Brothers Charitable Foundation was greatly affected by the COVID-19 crisis, as we were forced to cancel both of our annual charity golf tournaments – our primary fundraiser each year,” said Brookshire Brothers Charitable Foundation Board Chairman Sally Alvis. “However, due to the support and benevolent donations from many of our vendor partners, we are pleased to distribute more than $75,000 in grants this year.”
