CARBONDALE, Ill. (KFVS) - Southern Illinois University Carbondaleâs Camp Little Giant will return in the summer.
SIUâs Touch of Nature Environmental Center canceled the events in 2020 due to the pandemic.
Camp Little Giant will return on a smaller scale, offering two day camps in July that will implement special safety precautions, including social distancing.
Dyna Camp - July 5-9 - This is for ages 8-17 with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and attention deficit disorder. It includes hiking, canoeing, kayaking, archery, arts and crafts, games and other activities. Campers will need to be comfortable following directions, taking care of their personal needs and managing independently for briefing time periods

CARBONDALE, Ill. Southern Illinois University Carbondale’s Camp Little Giant, the first university-affiliated camp for children and adults with differing abilities, is back this summer. SIU’s Touch of Nature Environmental Center had to cancel its acclaimed residential camps in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Camp Little Giant is returning on a smaller scale, offering two day camps in July that will implement special safety precautions, including social distancing, in compliance with state and SIU protocols.
Dyna Camp
Dyna Camp, for youths ages 8-17 with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and attention deficit disorder, will take place July 5-9. Participants will enjoy hiking, canoeing, kayaking, archery, arts and crafts, games and other activities.
Drives loses control of vehicle, crashes into power pole
The driver, who was traveling near Buckman, lost control of the vehicle, went in the ditch and struck a power pole, the sheriff’s office reported.

BUCKMAN A 38-year-old man was injured Tuesday, March 3, after losing control of his vehicle, 4 miles south of Buckman.
The Morrison County Sheriff’s Office was called at 3:40 p.m. to a one-vehicle rollover at the intersection of Nature Road and 250th Avenue in Buckman Township. Deputies identified the driver as Luke Solinger from Royalton, who was traveling north on 250th Avenue. Solinger lost control of the vehicle, went in the ditch and struck a power pole, the sheriff’s office reported.
