Muscat: : Sheikh Rashid Ahmed Al Shamsi, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Social Development, said that the Sultanate has tasked airline companies to announce their lists of incoming travellers to facilitate the process of institutional isolation in accordance with the decision of the Supreme Committee.
He said that 1,700 citizens arriving from abroad were quarantined. The Supreme Committee’s decision to prohibit the arrival of travellers from certain countries was due to the fact that tests on such travellers showed many COVID-19-positive cases, some of which exceeded 20 percent of segments, said the Minister of Health.
In addition, Brig. Mohammed Salam Al Hashami of the Directorate-General Public Relations, Royal Oman Police (ROP), said that the ROP is following up developments and decisions of the Supreme Committee.
Buzdar approves revamping of DGPR

LAHORE:Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has approved revamping the Directorate General Public Relations (DGPR).
The chief minister accorded this approval while addressing a meeting attended by Finance Minister Hashim Jawan Bakht, SACM Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan, chief secretary, Planning and Development chairman and DGPR to review the future roadmap.
The chief minister approved procurement of two Digital Satellite News Gathering (DSNG) vans along with the establishment of a state-of-the-art studio while four directorates would be technologised to meet the modern day needs. The print media, electronic media, digital media, administration, advertisement, press laws, IT and legal sections will be re-jigged and all the directorates will be provided with the latest information and communication technology tools to optimally perform, the meeting decided. QUETTA: Employees of the Directorate General Public Relations (DGPR) continued their protest for the 25th consecutive day on Thursday for acceptance of their demands, particularly that of media professional allowance.
Members of the DGPR Officers Welfare Association and other officials have been boycotting official work for two hours daily to record their protest against what they called injustice to their department, which has been working for projecting the development activities under way by the government throughout the province.
The protesters hanged various banners on the DGPR office’s building and walls and hoisted black flags. They complained against discriminatory policies of the government towards them.
