RUSH: Lo and behold, wait ’til you hear this audio sound bite. CNN is reporting it’s miraculous the virus numbers are improving in 43 states, folks, since Biden was inaugurated yesterday. It’s a miracle! Oh, my goodness, are we so happy!

RUSH: It’s impossible not to be cynical, particularly when you predict these things. And I’m not alone. You probably joined me constantly in predicting that either shortly after the election or well into the Biden transition and certainly after the inauguration, why, the news media would be filled with stories of how bright it is now. Despite Plugs talking about it’s gonna be a dark winter, which he did, he warned all of us that it’s very dark out there and there’s no light in sight. We nevertheless predicted the Drive-By Media would take care of that.

RUSH: I’ve got news here about Cocaine Mitch and is what I’m trying to let the printer print. I got two things here I need to share with you. (shuffling papers) Here it is. Okay. The first story is from TheHill.com. The headline: “McConnell: Trump ‘Provoked’ Crowd That Stormed Capitol.” There it is. This has been sort of simmering underneath the radar out there. It has been an item of curiosity.
“What is the Turtle gonna do? Is the Turtle gonna dump on Trump or is the Turtle going to maintain one last vestige of loyalty?” And we now have the answer. “Outgoing [ahem] Senate Majority Leader” Cocaine Mitch and, by the way, I don’t know what that means. I just find it hilarious. I read a couple of blogs who nicknamed him that. I have no idea.

RUSH: So we are one day away from the strangest inauguration of a president in our lifetimes. That would be the inauguration of Joe Plugs Biden. There s an interesting story here today from The Federalist: Trump Set To Leave Office With A Higher Approval Rating Than George W. Bush.
There was also a survey last week that told the story that Donald Trump s the most admired man in the country, most admired man in the world, maybe. And everybody looks at that, how in the world can that be? Well, it can, and it was. And now he s got a higher approval rating than George W. Bush. Trump is leaving office with an approval rating of about 40%. And, as you know, George W. Bush left office with just under 30% of Americans on his side.
