When Nokia Mobile rekindled its relationship with Germany’s ZEISS back in 2017, there are high hopes for a next generation imaging technology for future Nokia smartphones. Four years later, we have yet to see what came out of that partnership other than the ZEISS logo on Nokia smartphones, and some software smarts that didn’t quite reached the expectations of many especially with the brand such as Nokia.
Yes, the Nokia 9 PureView has some tricks up its sleeves. At the same time, it was bugged with many problems from the start, making it quite impossible for many to prefer it over the ocean of Android flagship smartphones. Vivo X60 and Vivo X60 Pro official renders have leaked online ahead of their launch later this month. The new leak leaves little to the imagination when it comes to the look of the upcoming phones in the X60-lineup. Vivo is expected to announce three new phones, the X60, X60 Pro and X60 Pro+ on December 29. Moreover, the company has also announced its partnership with Zeiss optics for the gimbal camera system on the X60 series.

The Zeiss name has been associated with a number of OEMs already. We know Sony and Nokia and now this: Vivo. This isn’t the first time we’re hearing about a Zeiss-Vivo partnership. We learned about the upcoming Vivo X60 with Zeiss camera. It’s official now: the two companies have entered global partnership for mobile imaging. The team-up will begin with the two co-engineering an imaging system that will be used for Vivo’s future premium phones. As expected, the Vivo X60 series will be the first to use the technology.
The vivo ZEISS Imaging Lab will be a joint R&D program. To start with the effort, a Vivo ZEISS Master Photography campaign will be launched. The partnership will be long-term and is expected to produce to innovations in the mobile imaging tech. We’ll see this first in the Vivo X60.

Earlier this year, Vivo released its X50 series flagships that featured a gimbal stabilization for the main camera. The phone got positive reviews at BGR India itself and Vivo at the time promised more on the imaging front.
