The Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company Ltd (NCWSC) will shut down a water supply pipeline along Mombasa Road from Thursday, December 17 at 6am to Friday, December 18 at 6am.
According to a notice to the public, this will be done to facilitate interconnection of the new and old water pipelines at Langata Road and Mombasa Road junction so that the road median to the Expressway can be released to the contractor.
As a result, the following estates will experience interrupted water supply:
Nairobi West, South B and South C (including Mater Hospital)
Estates along Jogoo Road including Buruburu, Makadara, Hamza and Industrial Area

Nairobi MCAs have hit out at the Governor Mike Sonko–led administration for allegedly undermining the legislative authority of the assembly.
The ward legislators have raised concern over failure by the Executive to implement 19 Acts and policies passed by the Nairobi County Assembly, and which seek to improve service delivery in the capital.

They have also adopted a motion by Kayole Central MCA Jeremiah Themendu compelling the County Executive Committee Members to promptly initiate development of the Acts and regulations and submit the same to the Assembly within 90 days.

“In the City Decongestion Strategy, commuter buses will be available for passengers who will prefer not to walk from the termini to the city centre and vice-versa,” said NMS in a statement.
It added that commuters can also use the Non-Motorised Transport Corridors (NMT) which have both cycle ways and walk ways to and from the CBD.
According to NMS, the city will soon start using a digital platform for rides to and from terminuses which will be introduced by NMS outside CBD.
NMS is set to integrate an electronic system in the terminuses outside the city centre that will keep matatu users informed on the time last mile buses will be at the different pick up stages.
