Premium Content Subscriber only A MAN who hacked his sister s internet banking account also stole a safe containing gold and silver bars and $35,000 cash. Police caught up with Nathan Sue driving an unregistered car, Ipswich Magistrates Court heard. Sue was also charged with breaking in and stealing electronic goods, jewellery and cash from Cash Converters store in Ipswich. Nathan James Sue, 38, from Goodna, appeared before Ipswich Magistrates Court from jail via video-link for sentence on Friday. He pleaded guilty to three charges of stealing; two counts of committing fraud; using a restricted computer to cause detriment at Bellbird Park in September 2019; break and enter business premises to steal; enter dwelling to steal at North Ipswich in April 2018; fraud; driving an unregistered and uninsured car at Goodna on May 21 last year; failing to appear at court; and contravening probation orders.

Banned driver was on mission to recover stolen property

Appearing at Ipswich Magistrates Court on Thursday, Anita Joy Harrold, 41, from Goodna pleaded guilty to driving when disqualified at Ripley on June 9, 2020. Prosecutor Senior Constable Bridie O’Shea said a Yamanto police patrol came across Harrold in a Ripley street at 10.15pm. Harrold gave her name, saying she had driven there from her home in Goodna in the belief stolen property may be at the address. “She said she was aware of being disqualified but had no one else to drive her,” Snr Const. O’Shea said.

Drink driver facing horrible crash damage bill

Ipswich Magistrates Court on Friday heard Jarod Douglas Hourigan, 20, was yet to receive the damage bill. Hourigan pleaded guilty to drink driving at Redbank Plains on December 28 last year; and driving without due care and attention. In police facts put forward by Prosecutor Sergeant Rose Molinaro, officers were called to the scene of a single vehicle crash at Redbank Plains at 11pm on December 28. A pole was found snapped in half and lying across the road in Juillerat Drive.

Thomas Hammant secreted his mate under luggage and a blanket in the rear of his small Ford Fiesta hatch, Ipswich Magistrates Court heard on Thursday. Queensland Transport and police who were checking drivers at the border became suspicious and went in for a closer look. Magistrate Andy Cridland took issue with Hammant’s apparent indifference to the situation when he faced court this week. “You need to take stock of yourself. You come across as a person with no regard to anyone,” Mr Cridland said.

Police follow smoke trail to dangerous driving dad

Police saw smoke left behind by Anthony Tronc after he skidded his tyres on the Cunningham Hwy at Fassifern on October 2 last year. Ipswich Magistrates Court heard that when they pulled him over, he also blew an alcohol reading of 0.097, while on a P licence. Anthony Wayne Tronc, 30, from Kalbar, pleaded guilty to dangerous operation of a motor vehicle; and drink driving. Prosecutor Senior Constable Dan Swanson said police saw a large plume of smoke at an intersection and saw the car go past a parked truck.
