Daily Post Nigeria Published On Friday, Igboho went to Igangan to restate his ultimatum to Fulanis to leave. Igangan is a community in Ibarapa North Local Government Area. The activist had accused the Fulani of perpetrating murders and kidnappings. Makinde declared that his government would not allow anyone hiding under the guise of protecting Yoruba interests to cause ethnic tension and perpetrate crisis. Bauchi Governor signs $70m MoU with UK-based firm on provision of electricity Published Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, on Friday evening signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with PowerDot, a United Kingdom-based energy firm, on provision of uninterrupted electricity through incineration of municipal solid waste to energy at an affordable cost. The MoU, which is a $70million investment, according to a press statement signed and made available to DAILY POST by the Senior Special Assistant on Media to the Governor, Muktar Gidado, covered provision of 10 megawatts of power through waste. Speaking shortly after signing the MoU at the Mini Chamber, Government House, Bauchi, Governor Mohammed pledged to provide the required support for the smooth execution of the firm’s project in the state.

Share Determined to provide affordable and uninterrupted electricity power supply through incineration of municipal solid waste to energy at an affordable cost, Bauchi State government, has signed a $70 million Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with a UK based energy firm, PowerDot for a 10 megawatt of energy through waste products. Speaking shortly after signing the MoU at the Mini Chambers of the Government House, Bauchi State Governor, Sen Bala Mohammed, pledged to provide the required support for the smooth execution of the firm’s project in the state. The governor who pledged to protect the investment of the firm in the state, observed that, the initiative will enhance internally generated revenue, create employment opportunities in addition to bringing industrialisation to the state.

How COVID-19, climate change marred agric sector in 2020

Agricultural sector High prices of foodstuffs in the country have been attributed to poor agricultural productivity in 2020, as the sector was marred by COVID-19 pandemic, climate-induced floods and drought, as well as widespread insecurity, as identified by specialists. The National President of the All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN), Mr Ibrahim Kabir, explained that the pandemic, which hit Nigeria hard when farmers, input dealers, financial institutions and farmers’ associations were getting set to mobilise resources for cultivation, truncated farming activities. In April 2020, it will be recalled, there was a nationwide lockdown following the index cases of COVID-19 in Lagos State and Abuja, and the restriction paralysed not only movement of farm labour, inputs and other resources, but also all commercial activities in the country.
