FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Arkansas Razorbacks women’s tennis team is looking to keep its winning streak alive this weekend, as they open SEC play at home against Ole Miss (4-2) and Mississippi State (8-0). The Hogs face off against the Rebels on Saturday (Feb. 20) at noon and then against the Bulldogs on Monday (Feb. 22) at 11 a.m.
Arkansas (5-0) will host the two Mississippi teams after defeating Wichita State (6-1). Freshman-standout Indianna Spink secured the match win for the Razorbacks with a hard-fought victory on court one against Shocker Sarvinoz Saidhujaeva. Spink dropped the first set to Saidhujaeva, 6-1, but was able to pick up momentum and come out on top (1-6, 6-4 (6)).

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The University of Arkansas volleyball team (10-4) is looking to extend its winning streak this week heading to Baton Rouge, La. for a two-match series at LSU (3-7) beginning on Thursday (Feb. 18) at 4 p.m.
Arkansas is coming off its fifth series sweep over the course of the 2020-21 season, after it defeated Alabama at home in back-to-back nights, 3-0 and 3-1 respectively. Gillen and Wheeler shined for the Hogs, contributing 46 kills (51% of team total) and a combined 13 service aces and 29 digs. The duo went 46-11-121 (.289 hitting %) on the weekend as well.
As a team, the Razorbacks are in great shape headed into the weekend. Currently ranked third in the SEC and receiving votes in the national polls, Arkansas’ offense is among the top four teams in the conference in kills, services aces, digs and assists.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Arkansas baseball’s Christian Franklin and Robert Moore are officially in the running for the Golden Spikes Award, which is given to the top amateur baseball player in the country.
USA Baseball announced its 55-player preseason watch list on Thursday. The list includes the nation’s top amateur players from both the high school and college level.
Arkansas has had 12 student-athletes land on the preseason watch list in the award’s history, with Heston Kjerstad and Casey Martin representing the Razorbacks in last year’s edition. One Razorback has won the accolade, as Andrew Benintendi took home the 2015 honor.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The University of Arkansas volleyball team had another exceptional defensive match on Saturday afternoon, recording 11 blocks and holding the Alabama offense to just a .164 hitting percentage over the course of four sets in the Razorbacks’ 3-1 victory. Arkansas improves to 10-4 overall with the 25-18, 25-17, 18-25, 25-21 win, while Alabama falls to 4-10 on the year.
Sophomore Jillian Gillen led the way for the Hogs with her 16th career double-double, backed by 19 kills and 16 digs. Gillen also recorded three blocks and a career-best five service aces.
Senior transfer Devyn Wheeler solidified her spot among some of the most efficient middle-blockers in the SEC, registering 12 kills on 20 attacks and committing no errors for a .600 hitting percentage against the Tide. Wheeler contributed seven digs, three service aces and three blocks as well.
