Laura Carrillo, a California woman said she drowned her three children to protect them from abuse by their father amid a custody battle.
In an interview on Thursday, the 30-year-old alleged that her boyfriend, Erik Denton, had sexually abused the children.
She admitted to regretting killing them but felt it was the only way to keep them safe.

Gold prices steady as bond yields decline

Gold prices maintained more than one-month high on Friday following a decline in US Treasury yields and the dollar.
Spot gold was up 0.1% at $1,764.13 per ounce by 04:35 GMT while US gold futures eased 0.1% to $1,764.40.
Ilya Spivak, DailyFX currency strategist said, We ve seen that the 10-year yield has pulled back and has broken through that very important 1.6% level and I think that probably means that there is more weakness in yields, at least near term, which is very supportive for gold.
Benchmark US Treasury yields dropped to a one-month low, reducing the opportunity cost of holding non-interest bearing gold.
Turkish authorities ban crypto assets

Turkey’s central bank has banned the use of crypto assets for payment, it announced on Friday.
This is due to entailed significant risks due to volatile market values, irrevocable transactions and are used in illegal actions.

In a statement, the central bank said, “It is considered that their use in payments may cause non-recoverable losses for the parties to the transactions due to the above-listed factors and they include elements that may undermine the confidence in methods and instruments used currently in payments.”
The ban on crypto assets and currencies in Turkey comes a week after Turkish authorities demanded user information from trading platforms.

Multiple people were shot in the US city of Indianapolis by a gunman on Thursday, according to the police.
It is believed that the gunman killed himself after the shooting at a FedEx facility close to the international airport.
One man who said he works at the plant recalled the incident to a media house. I saw a man with a sub-machine gun of some sort, an automatic rifle, and he was firing in the open. I immediately ducked down and got scared, Jeremiah Miller said.
