Two splinter groups of the Lekagak Telenggen-led armed group are operating in Puncak District Timika, Papua (ANTARA) - Papua s police has mapped six armed Papuan separatist terrorist groups actively operating in the province s mountainous areas, as military and police personnel intensify law enforcement operations against them after a top agent s recent fatal shooting. The active armed groups operate in the sub-districts of Ilaga and Beoga in Puncak District; Sugapa Sub-district in Intan Jaya District; and Nduga District, Papua Police Chief Insp. Gen. Mathius Fakhiri stated in Timika, the capital of Mimika District, on Sunday.

Education Award 2021 (ANTARA News Papua/Muhsidin) Jayapura, Papua (ANTARA) - Representatives of Yonathan Renden and Oktovianus Rayo, two teachers, recently shot dead by several armed Papuan separatist terrorists in Beoga Sub-district, Puncak District, received the Education Award 2021 from Papua’s provincial government on Sunday evening.
The award bestowed by the Papua office for education, libraries, and archives to honor the fallen teachers dedication to educating Papuan children in the remotely mountainous regions was received by representatives of the slain teachers mourning families.
Assaulting and killing teachers must be stopped from recurring in future, Secretary of the Papua Provincial Administration Yulian Dance Flassy notified journalists after attending the event to mark the commemoration of National Education Day.
All native Papuans are enjoying the same freedoms as their fellow Indonesians across the country, so they no longer need to demand independence, an Ilaga .

JAKARTA, INDONESIA (BosNewsLife)– The West Papua Council of Churches urges the United Nations to help end a “humanitarian tragedy” in Indonesia’s Papua region where it says Indonesia’s military kills Christian leaders.
Thousands have been displaced due to the violence, which increased since last year, according to rights activists. Among those targeted was Pastor Yeremia Zanambani of the Protestant Evangelical Church, who was killed in the Intan Jaya regency area on September 19, investigators said.
A report from the Indonesian National Commission on Human Rights said that Pastor Zanambani was tortured before being shot by Indonesia’s army.

I Gusti Putu Danny Karya Nugraha, the Indonesian government has declared armed Papuan criminal groups, also called “KKB”, as terrorists .
The decision was announced by Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs, Mahfud MD, at an online press conference in Jakarta on Thursday.
In declaring the armed groups as “terrorists”, the government has referred to the provisions of Law Number 5 of 2018 on Amendments to Law Number 15 of 2003 on Stipulation of Government Regulations in Lieu of Law Number 1 of 2002 on the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Terrorism.
