This afternoon will see a high near 34 degrees and the biggest winter storm of the season yet, with up to eight inches of snow possible in the Chicago area. The heaviest snowfall is expected from 6 p.m. to midnight. Tonight’s low will be near 30 degrees. Tomorrow, the snow continues through the early afternoon; the high will be around 32 degrees.

Iashiskala Sims suffered a miscarriage days after her car was stolen last year.
On Sunday morning, she got the surprise of a lifetime in the form of a new car.
Sims thought she was one of four finalists in a contest to win a new vehicle.
She was told she had to be interviewed at Sweet Holy Spirit Church of Chicago.
But after the “interview,” Sims learned the car – all wrapped in a red bow – was meant for her all along.
It was donated by a Chicago businessman.

Faith leaders and others gathered in Englewood on Wednesday morning as public demonstrations continued in the aftermath of the botched raid by Chicago police on a social worker’s home last year.
The erroneous raid on Anjanette Young’s home police were following a bad tip set off a yearlong fight with the city to release footage of the incident captured by police body-worn cameras.
Ald. Stephanie Coleman (16th) said they are still working to “hold others accountable” for the “traumatic experience” Young has suffered from.
“Now it’s time to heal, and now it’s time to pray,” Coleman said.
