HOUSTON The Houston Texans didn t get better over the weekend, but they also didn t get worse. It s hard to say anything positive, though, without a first-or-second-round selection.
It s also impossible to negate the fact that the Texans offseason likely culminated into the decision to select a quarterback with the No. 67 selection.
Adding Stanford QB Davis Mills almost all but says that Deshaun Watson s time in Houston could be over. Watson made it clear he didn t want to remain in Houston, so the Texans have prepared for the worst in all aspects. Davis (Mills) played in a good program at Stanford. With the 2021 NFL draft in conclusion, the Tennessee Titans walked away with a rather interesting draft. Tennessee is set up to potentially win the AFC South for the second year in a row and was able to secure some talented prospects to help make that push for the next few years.
Additionally, the front office made a few questionable decisions, as they didn’t address the wide receiver position until the latter portion of the draft. Three of the Titans’ first four selections were on the defensive side of the ball. It makes sense considering how terrible the defense was last year. The front office has done everything they can to reshape the defense, but it seems to have come at a cost of losing pass catchers.

Judging how draft classes will end up is very difficult so immediately after the event. This exercise is an educated guess based on the pre-draft perception of prospects, team needs and fits. A number of teams had impressive drafts last weekend so narrowing it down to just five was very difficult.

Titans complete their extreme makeover of struggling defense

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) The Tennessee Titans have completed their extreme makeover of one of the NFL’s worst defenses.
Gone are seven players who started at least three games last season, including three in the secondary to create salary cap space. In are free agent signees linebacker Bud Dupree, lineman Denico Autry and cornerback Janoris “Jackrabbit” Jenkins.
The latest changes came in the NFL draft with the Titans finishing Saturday making five of their eight selections on defense led by first-round selection cornerback Caleb Farley out of Virginia Tech.
