Police: 14-year-old boy shot in Racine

RACINE, Wis. (CBS 58) Racine police say a 14-year-old boy was shot in Racine near Albert and Carlisle on Sunday, May 16. Police say they responded to the area and began life saving measures prior to the victim being transported to the hospital. The victim was later transported by flight for life to a local hospital. Racine Police investigators are interested in any additional information that anyone may have about this crime. Fatal shooting in Racine; no one in custody, police say By FOX6 News Digital Team Published  RACINE - Racine police are investigating a homicide that happened at a gas station near Golf Avenue and Rapids Drive around 1 a.m. Saturday, May 15. Upon arrival, officers found a 20-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds. The victim, later identified as Deveon Robbins, was transported to the hospital where he died as a result of his injuries.  Currently, no one is in custody in connection with the shooting.  This is an active investigation. Racine Police investigators are interested in any additional information that anyone may have about this crime.

Police have identified the victim as Deveon D. Robbins.  Police responded to the scene shortly after 1 a.m. Robbins was transported to a hospital where he later died due to his injuries.  Police say no one is in custody in connection to the incident.  Racine Police investigators are interested in any additional information that anyone may have about this crime. The Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department Remembers: Blanco Aquino James C.Rieschel Frank Fabiano Jr. Jacob Keul The Kenosha Police Department remembers: Antonio Pingitore Gary Fraid Donald Murphy Dreux Beaulier They also remembered other Wisconsin officers: Milwaukee Police Officer Mattew Rittner, Racine Police Officer John Hetland, Milwaukee Police Officer Mark Lentz, and Dane County Deputy Richard Treadwell. In 2019 there were 134 Law Enforcement Officers killed in the line of duty. Of those, 47 were killed by gunfire.

May 11, 2021 6 hrs ago The name of Racine police officer John Hetland was added to a memorial marker with the names of the 17 other Racine County law enforcement officers who have been killed in the line of duty since November 1918 in a ceremony Tuesday May 11, 2021 during national Law Enforcement Week. Hetland was killed June 17, 2019, when he tried to stop the armed robbery of a restaurant and bar he was dining at while off-duty. The ceremony was part of the county s annual Law Enforcement Memorial Ceremony in Hantschel Park, named for city police officer James J. Hantschel who was killed May 15, 1963. No ceremony was held in 2020 because of the pandemic.
