Vince Gill, Maren Morris, Ryan Hurd and Rissi Palmer open up about the state of country music
Country music s biggest stars, Maren Morris and Luke Combs, will have a conversation at the Country Radio Seminar Wednesday about how artists have a responsibility to help open up the genre to diverse voices and make changes for the better. The industry has long avoided uncomfortable questions about its history and diversity. I think most people perceive that country music is extremely conservative, and I m not sure that s true. I think maybe the audience might be predominantly conservative. I don t know that the artistry is. I don t know that the community is. So there s a rub in there, country singer and songwriter Vince Gill told CBS This Morning co-host Anthony Mason.

Black History Month: Movies, TV shows and books on systemic racism
To celebrate the annual observance, and in light of the Black Lives Matter movement, here are materials to help educate all ages about the fight for racial justice.

Each February brings Black History Month, a time to recognize and celebrate the achievements of African-Americans, and their central role in shaping American society and history. It s also an opportunity to recommit to better understanding and combatting systemic racism and oppression.
Community groups in Chicago created Two-Thirds United in an effort to build unity between Black and brown residents. When you look at who we are, Latinos and African Americans make a two thirds majority of the Chicago population, and from that was recommended let s become Two-thirds United, said Marty Castro, Casa Central President & CEO.
After the tension that arose between the two communities during the unrest following the killing of George Floyd, Casa Central President & CEO Marty Castro reached out to The Chicago Community Trust for help finding long term solutions. The Chicago Community Trust has awarded funding to Two-Thirds United to promote unity and collaboration.
Ahead of the federal holiday celebrating the birthday of the civil rights leader, here are materials to help educate all ages about the fight for racial justice.
