The Hindu Group, which publishes the
Hindu newspaper, has appointed Krishna Prasad as its first ever group editorial officer . Prasad is the former editor-in-chief of
Outlook magazine and editor of
Vijay Times. He also runs the blogs
Churumuri and
Sans Serif on Indian journalism.
In a letter to employees of the company, Malini Parthasarathy, the chairman of the Hindu Publishing Group and former editor of the
Hindu newspaper, said the role of group editorial officer was created to help them in their ambitious journey towards the digital transformation of editorial operations . The officer will coordinate with the editors of the various print publications and digital offerings on content strategy and management .
