Vanderburgh reported 173 and Warrick 61 new cases. Warrick and Spencer counties each reported a COVID-19-related death.
The data, found on the Indiana State Health Department s statewide dashboard of cases, brings Vanderburgh County s totals to 17,162 cases since the first one emerged on March 19 and 207 deaths since the first occurred on April 6.
No new deaths were reported Friday in Vanderburgh, Posey, Gibson and Perry counties.
Statewide, Indiana logged 6,199 new cases and 69 new deaths. The number of Hoosiers who have died from COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic is now 8,521.
This week the counties were among 57 of the state s 92 counties with weekly case numbers placing them at a red level advisory. An additional eight Indiana counties with weekly case numbers in orange also remain under red-level advisories.
Vanderburgh reported 278 and Warrick 114 new cases. Warrick reported two COVID-19-related deaths.
