A strike by Delhi Jal Board (DJB) contractors, who took 100 water tankers off the road this month, caused only a minor disruption in water supply in parts of the city, DJB officials said.
The strike started around December 1 and ended largely on Thursday through the intervention of the Delhi High Court. Around 20 tankers were still off the road as on Friday and were being persuaded to return to work by the DJB, officials said.
His comments come amid a drive by the government to demolish illegal structures in the state. Warning those indulging in land irregularities to leave the state, Chouhan said while addressing the crowd: “Aaj-kal apan khatarnaak mood mein hai. Gadbad karne walo ko chhodenge nahi mama. Ek taraf mafia ke khilaaf abhiyaan chal raha hai. Muscle power, rasook kaa istemaal karke, kahi avaid kabza, kahi drug mafia; Sunlo re. Activists have raised the red flag against the new electric supply code formulated by the Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission’s (MERC) new supply code.
Alleging that the draft new code has diluted several provisions in consumer interest, the state-level coordination committee of the Veej Grahak and Audyogik Sangathan, an umbrella organisation of state power consumer outfits in the state, has now approached the Maharashtra government, seeking urgent intervention in the case.
On December 9, the MERC had published the draft of the Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission (Electricity Supply Code and Standards of Performance of Distribution Licensees including Power Quality) Regulations, 2020, inviting public suggestions and objections till December 29.

Chief Minister Vijay Rupani on Friday presided over a function at Mahatma Mandir here on the occasion of birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee which is being celebrated as Good Governance Day by the central government.
During the function, Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually addressed the country from Delhi while also depositing last installment of the Pradhanmantri Kisan Sanman Nidhi (PKSN) digitally in the accounts of registered farmers. In Gujarat, Rs 1,027 crore were deposited in the bank accounts of 51.34 lakh registered farmers under PKSN.
Similar functions were organized at 248 locations of the state from where people listened to the Prime Minister’s address on the importance of new farm laws for welfare of farmers in the country.
